Hayley Williams is a Solicitor in our Family Law and Criminal Law teams and has a keen interest in court appearance work. She is primarily drawn to Family Law and she has over eight years experience in this area of Law. Hayley became a Partner of Hansons Lawyers on 1st July 2015
Hayley works on a range of Family Law matters including parenting disputes, property settlements, Binding Financial Agreements, child support agreements, defacto law (including same sex couples) and Divorce proceedings. She has experience in handling matters ranging from simple negotiated settlements resolved by way of Consent Orders to ongoing disputes involving complex Trust schemes or numerous business interests.
More recently she has been assisting couples prior to marriage or cohabitation who wish to enter into what is commonly referred to as “pre-nuptial agreements” and provides them with advice on a range of options which are available in the event of future separation. Parenting matters are always complex and are often the most difficult matters to resolve. Hayley has a common sense approach and she is able to work constructively with clients in these very challenging situations. Hayley is able to assist clients through what can be one of the most stressful times in their lives.
Hayley has experience in appearing the Local Court, District Court and the Children’s Court however she primarily advocates for her client’s in the Federal Circuit Court and the Family Court of Australia.
Hayley has always lived in the Wollongong region. She attended the University of Wollongong completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics in 2006. She completed an internship in the Federal Parliament House working for a Member of Parliament and preparing a research paper during this time. She commenced her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Wollongong in 2007 and worked as a Law Clerk with a well-established Wollongong Firm specialising in the area of Family Law. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 2011 and gained admission as a solicitor to the Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia in 2012.
Hayley joined the Hansons Family Law and Criminal Law divisions in 2012 and works in a very strong team with her colleague and mentor Mr Jeffrey David.
