Tyrone grew up in Wollongong and after completing his secondary education began working with at the Wollongong Local Court. He spent over thirty years working in the court system at various metropolitan and country courts throughout New South Wales and has held the positions of Registrar of the Court, Chamber Magistrate, Coroner and Magistrate.
